The break-up of the Clair-Daü estate in 1986 created Domaine Bruno-Clair, now Marsannay’s best producer, and Domaine Fougeray de Beauclair. Much of the land farmed by Jean-Louis Fougeray is leased from other landowners, although this has been supplemented by a growing portfolio of vineyard acquisitions.

Marsannay is a village that has a burgeoning reputation, particularly for its reds, and it is producers like Bruno Clair, Phillipe Roty and Fougeray de Beauclair that are continuing to raise the bar.

Soft fruit, delicate earthiness and velvety texture are what Fougeray’s wines are all about – and they are fantastic value for money.
