Château Filhot was built in the early nineteenth century, and in its early years was so highly regarded to often be ranked just behind Yquem. Now it seems to be less well-thought of, but largely because its style is distinctly traditional – less sweet and intense, more savoury than is the fashion. In our opinion, that actually makes it more delicious and very drinkable.
