POUILLY FUISSE 'CUVéE LEVROUTEE' 2001, DOMAINE GUFFENS-HEYNEN

One of the top domaines in the Côte Mâconnais, Guffens-Heynan are famous for their old vines, very low yields and rich, exotic wines that define the appellations that they are from.

Known for being something of an eccentric, Jean-Marie Guffens-Heynan describes himself as having an “unusual personality”, while Burgundy guru Clive Coates MW describes his as “…vociferous, rude and indiscreet, irritating rather than congenial.”

Happily his wines are somewhat more approachable, and are some of the most age worthy whites in Southern Burgundy.
