Please note this event has already happened
Date: 7pm, Thursday 4th March 2010
Price: £150.00
What a difference a year makes. As one of the best vintages of the 20th century, you would expect ‘82 to have left a legacy, but the impact of this year ran far deeper than simply providing us with some of the best wines ever made.
1982 in Bordeaux was the year that ‘futures’, and wine investment in general, really took off. Since then there have been other big vintages that have caused rushes of blood to the head and spikes in demand (‘90, ‘00 and ‘05 to name but three), but it was 1982 that got the market started. Not only that, but it also established a certain American wine critic called Robert Parker as the world’s most respected palate, setting the tone for the next generation of savvy wine consumers that demanded high ‘Parker Points’. But what about the wines 28 years later? Well, we are expecting fireworks......
We will be tasting 10 wines, including:
Ormes de Pez, Brane-Cantenac, Lynch-Bages, Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Cos d’Estournel, Haut Brion and Margaux.
